Hurricane Sandy Ruffles Feathers

The saw whet owl shown here was brought to Connecticut wildlife rehabber Wanda D’Agostino “starving and confused.” Note the condition of the feathers, a result of heavy winds from Hurricane Sandy. Wanda says the female owl is doing OK now, but still is not flying. Fortunately, she is eating well – 1.5 cut up mice a day!
